How to contact our team
The Partnership
Groundwork East of England works with the Haven Gateway Partnership to support the management and delivery by local partners of the green infrastructure strategy. The Growth Area funding for the work has now been allocated and spent but partners continue to meet to share best practice and hear about new initiatives that support Green Infrastructure.
Following the success of the ‘I love landscapes’ campaign (www.ilovelandscapes.co.uk) in 2010-11 - asking residents to come forward and suggest how the Partnership should spend its remaining green infrastructure fund. Three shortlisted ideas were put to the public vote as part of a new grant scheme offering up to £18,000 to support the most innovative green space idea.
In May 2011, Shotley Cliff and Picnic Area was voted the most popular project and received the £18,000 grant. To read more about it please visit our Shotley Cliff and Picnic Area case study page.
In 2011-12 Groundwork has continued to work with communities in the area and with some of the runners up to the initiative. Around £80k funding has been allocated to the area for community activities through our national corporate sponsorship work with Marks and Spencer and Britvic. Many thanks to these companies for supporting our work.
