How to contact our team
Historically, Groundwork has always worked both strategically and locally to plan, conserve, deliver and maintain greenspace. Our work with the Countryside Agency, ‘Countryside in and Around Towns’ and as a founding member of the Land Restoration Trust was a precursor for our work on Green Infrastructure and Green Space agendas.
In the East of England the Green Infrastructure movement is well advanced and is an integral part of the growth agenda. Groundwork is a partner in many of these, playing a different role according to need and the strengths of the sub-regional partners concerned. A common theme is the need to promote ‘people’ at the heart of green infrastructure; to ensure that the focus is more than just delivering new strategic green links and networks through new development areas or improving existing green spaces.
There are real opportunities to create new jobs, improve skills, encourage more active lifestyles, encourage volunteering, address anti-social behaviour, cut carbon, adapt to climate change as well as create quality places.
Groundwork is supporting the GI partnerships in Haven Gateway, Bedfordshire, Harlow and Hertfordshire and is a member of the regional Green Infrastructure Network.
