Schools

Groundwork works closely with many school communities, helping to fundraise for and implementing initiatives to meet these doorways and to link with the national curriculum, including:

  • Improvements to school grounds to enhance their usability and biodiversity
  • Educational programmes e.g. healthy eating ‘Grow Global’ projects
  • Pre- and After Schools activities
  • Curriculum based projects e.g Waste aware, Heritage on your doorstep
  • Motiv8 projects with pupils at or at risk of exclusion
  • School sustainable transport plans

In addition, our resource efficiency and energy advisors can review the carbon footprint of the school buildings and premises.

At a regional and sub-regional level we can co-ordinate and manage pan-regional programmes of work, where it is important to make the link between strategy and local delivery, including:

  • Research and evaluation of programmes and initiatives
  • Programme management of sub-regional pan-authority initiatives
  • Organisation of best practice workshops

  • Transforming school grounds

Are your school grounds providing an educational and healthy environment?

  • Alternative Curriculum

We use the environment to help re-engage pupils with education - both within the school grounds and outside of the usual educational system.

We make a difference

This was a wonderful experience for the children – some had not been to the woods before
