We have a strong track record of helping people who are out of work to gain new skills and find employment, in particular enabling those furthest removed from the labour market to build their confidence and prospects.
Our main focus has been specifically targeting young people who are not in employment, education or training.
Location: Houghton Regis The Green Team is a sixteen-week voluntary training scheme for unemployed young people. The scheme develops skills in outdoor environmental work and in addition participants are supported to complete a City & Guilds qualification in Land Based Studies.
Location: Houghton Regis In 2010, eight young people from Houghton Regis helped transform Plaiters Way green space on the north west edge of the town as part of a Green Skills training project.
Location: Dunstable This Green Skills project targeted adult residents on the Downside estate, Dunstable who were either economically inactive or in a low-skilled job. Volunteers involved in the project transformed the garden of the Downside Neighbourhood Centre.
