On 24 November at Chaul End Lane Open Space (Challney)15 fruit trees, 10 western red cedars and five beech trees were planted with the help of local volunteers, including some pupils from nearby Downside Primary School and members of the “Evergreeners” (over 50’s) club.
Then at Lewsey Park (Lewsey) - on 4 December, 400 native whips of various species were planted with the help of local volunteers, recruited via local contacts, community groups, local schools and via a leaflet drop to 1,500 households in the area.
We were delighted to welcome the Mayor who attended both planting events and MP Kelvin Hopkins at Lewsey.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped at both events.
